In the Amsterdam district of ‘Watergraafsmeer’, near the entrance and exit of the Amsterdam inner beltway A10, you can find the in brick constructed and beautifully with stove enamelled aluminium framed building of the Animal Rescue and Ambulance Amsterdam. The wish of the district was a building with a futuristic appearance.
The building’s central staircase forms the heart of the building. From there you can look freely to all sides of the building, which gives a spatial feel and helps stimulating the cohesion. High windows, divided into asymmetrical planes, overlook the ‘Park De Meer’ district. The building also has a meeting room, an instruction room, a bathroom for the night-time volunteers and a comforting mourning room.
